Digital problem solver.

I'm Aaron Zufall, and this is my work.

featured project
A digital-ready newsroom

WPXI-TV Pittsburgh produces digital content that spans over a dozen platforms, but their made-for-tv newsroom didn't have the resources their producers needed to monitor their online presence effectively. Working with their digital team and news executives, I developed a plan to put the right information in front of the right people.

WPXI had tools to monitor their website and online video, but no way of keeping tabs on their news and weather apps, since no commercially-available solution could continuously refresh and scroll through them. I found a way to make it happen using a single PC. We organized this and over half a dozen other analytics and monitoring tools across screens throughout the newsroom.

Strategy and design

I help businesses and organizations solve problems with strategy, design, and technology.

Cox Media Group National Week of Making Ithaca College School of Business

I work with teams large and small, design websites, install hardware, write software, make content, solder things, manage projects—whatever it takes to get the job done.

In the past few years, I’ve found myself:

Media know-how

I've worked for media groups of all sizes, from college radio stations to national conglomerates. I've made content and worked tech, so I can handle projects that span both.

Award: Special Mention, Chris Ulanowski Memorial Award for Best News Story, New York State Associated Press Association, 2015 Award: Mark of Excellence Award for Best All-Around Newscast, Society of Professional Journalists, 2016 Award: National Finalist for Best All-Around Newscast, Society of Professional Journalists, 2016

I've written and produced dozens of news features and segments as a part of the award-winning news team at WICB-FM. You can hear some of them here.

Here's my résumé, if you're into that sort of thing.
